World Labs is letting people explore Atlas worlds in real time through Frameboy, a demo that streams frames from cloud GPUs to a browser at up to 15 fps as the camera moves.
- The company says Frameboy serves a variant of Atlas that has been highly optimized to achieve the fastest, most efficient inference possible while maintaining excellent generative novel view synthesis capabilities.
- World Labs argues that speed shapes how people use the model: waiting tens of seconds or minutes for a video forces cautious, methodical scene building and camera planning, which limits iteration cycles.
- At an interactive rate, users can react and adjust their input quickly, and the company says that when the cost of a bad idea is near zero, what was formerly a costly mistake simply becomes exploration.
- The same real-time capability is now a streaming overlay render mode inside Viewfinder, the web app that builds scenes frame-by-frame with Atlas, which is available to test in closed beta with a waitlist.
