xAI's data science team built Data Bot, a Shared Bot in Grok Bot that lets every team query the warehouse and run analyses the way a data scientist would.
- The team says it was becoming a bottleneck, answering straightforward questions that still needed its expertise, so it taught the bot how it works.
- Data Bot draws on shared skills the data team maintains, covering core metrics, experiment design, chart and dashboard conventions, and dbt and pipeline practices.
- Teams can add it to Slack channels, where it answers questions and contributes to ongoing work, and shared memory lets it retain knowledge from day-to-day use.
- Data Bot's managers review proposed memory additions and approve or reject them before the bot shares that knowledge with everyone.
