Harvey is enforcing law firms' ethical walls inside its platform using client matters and policies synced from iManage Security Policy Manager, after an early access period with select customers.
- The capability is now generally available, and Harvey says it controls who can access and share content tied to a client matter by checking the information barrier and ethical wall policies the firm already maintains.
- When enforcement is turned on, those policies govern the Threads, Vaults, Review Tables and Spaces inside Harvey, so a colleague outside a barrier cannot open a shared Vault until they are permissioned through the firm's usual process. iManage SPM stays the system of record: policies are managed there and synced into Harvey, and when a policy changes, only users permissioned in iManage get equivalent access to Harvey resources, which Harvey says removes manual access checks by admins.
- Harvey's audit logs record wall membership syncs, space access attempts and changes to enforcement so risk teams can confirm how policies were applied.
- Eversheds Sutherland, a design partner, had kept walled matters out of Harvey and asked users to share Vaults only with permissioned colleagues; enforcement let it extend shared Vaults synced from iManage to those restricted matters and deploy Harvey firmwide.
