Meta has updated its commercial terms of service to allow the company to scrape content from websites associated with business accounts for AI training, according to reports from Nieman Lab and Ars Technica. The new terms, set to take effect on October 30, apply to any business using Meta's products, including news publishers, and do not offer an opt-out option. Following backlash, Meta removed language that explicitly mentioned using scraped content for training, but legal experts say the revised terms still grant broad scraping rights.
