From the source
Ideogram's guide shows how to recolor products in existing photographs with Colorways, its tool for exploring another shade on a garment, shoe, bag or other item.
- The workflow starts from a clear source photo, since recoloring should follow the decision about which photograph to use, and needs no recoloring prompt.
- Users mark a part with the Magic wand, Brush, Lasso or Rectangle, then pick a preset swatch, a color picker or a six-digit hex value such as #D9251D; an invalid hex entry reverts to the previous color.
- Each photo supports up to four regions, so separate parts can take different colors, and one region can hold disconnected patches such as both sleeves.
- Up to six product photos can be prepared at once, but every photo needs its own painted regions and colors, and a selection on a front view does not carry to a back view.
- Running the tool requires paid access or purchased credits, and the guide warns that a target hex value is an instruction, not proof of a measured fabric or print color match.
