Tencent has open-sourced Hy-SimulMT, a real-time Chinese-to-English and English-to-Chinese simultaneous translation model from Tencent HY.
- The company says the model runs at low latency of about 3 seconds while keeping high accuracy, and it supports real-time voice cloning.
- Tencent claims Hy-SimulMT outperforms most open-source models and commercial APIs, though it does not name the models or APIs it was compared against.
- The weights are available for download on
Hugging Face, ModelScope and
GitHub, and Tencent is inviting developers to try and build with it.
