A Microsoft Autopilot team lead prototyped an autonomous meeting-invite agent using a decision model, aiming to give people without an executive assistant a slice of that support.
- The prototype runs 24/7 on the author's laptop and reads every invite, deciding what to do and escalating only when the executive's own judgment is needed.
- The design target comes from Outlook's long-standing delegate access: the calendar is the product, not the inbox, and the agent acts with the executive's authority so organizers get a real RSVP.
- Pulling 90 days of mail metadata from July 24 to October 22, the author found every meeting appears more than three times as an invite, an update, a time change and a cancellation.
- The same agent is meant to serve both sides of the delegate setting, acting as the delegate for someone with no assistant and as the assistant's helper for someone who has one.
