The Agentic AI Foundation, a Linux Foundation consortium that maintains open-source AI tools, has taken on four new projects donated by OpenAI,
Anthropic,
Hugging Face and
Alibaba.
- The donations bring the AAIF's total to 10 projects, up from the three it managed when the Linux Foundation launched it last December.
- OpenAI donated Open Responses, a standardized template for implementing AI model APIs, modeled after the API through which OpenAI provides access to its LLMs, so workloads can move between compatible APIs without major code changes.
- Anthropic contributed Agent Skills, an open-source project it released last December that provides a standardized format for packaging skills, the collections of instructions, examples and automation scripts that improve an agent's output quality.
- Hugging Face donated OpenEnv, which reduces the work of switching training systems, and Alibaba donated OpenSandbox, a set of APIs for managing the sandboxes in which AI labs train their models.
