NVIDIA is showcasing European organizations that build on its Earth-2 open weather models, and adding StormScope EU, a regional short-term forecasting model trained over European weather and climate data.
- The company says decisions about solar farms, shipping routes and insured property depend on local conditions that global forecasts miss.
- StormScope EU uses EUMETSAT satellite observations to predict evolving cloud conditions across 16 Meteosat channels at 10-minute intervals.
- At GTC Berlin, NVIDIA is showing a live StormScope EU pipeline built with Earthmover, running forecasts through Earth2Studio and serving results as map tiles updated every 10 minutes.
- AXA is using FourCastNet 3 to study regional cyclone risk across more than 1,000 simulated seasons, while Vaisala Xweather is adapting StormScope with its lightning data to extend short-term forecasting lead time.
- University of Manchester researchers adapted CorrDiff for U.K. air-quality modeling, training it on the Isambard-AI supercomputer and running it locally on DGX Spark systems.
- TotalEnergies is evaluating StormScope-based solar-radiation nowcasts at two photovoltaic sites, and Space42 built SARDiff4Height on CorrDiff and PhysicsNeMo to estimate surface heights from a single radar image.
