NVIDIA is detailing how energy and data-center companies are building on its DSX AI Factory Platform to plan, simulate and run the grid and the AI factory as one system, from the substation to the rack.
- NVIDIA says power is now the biggest bottleneck in infrastructure, with more than $300 billion in equipment backlogged and over 200 gigawatts of projects waiting in U.S. interconnection queues.
- It attributes part of the problem to siloed systems, where the grid, the facility and the compute inside have long been designed independently, creating delays, risk and stranded capacity.
- DSX Sim and SimReady assets from energy manufacturers let engineers simulate the grid, substation and AI factory together, validating generators, switchgear, power systems and cooling before breaking ground.
- DSX Flex syncs AI factory demand with grid conditions and onsite generation, while DSX MaxLPS and DSX Exchange squeeze more compute from every watt and share signals across compute, networking, energy, cooling and operations.
- Hitachi Energy's battery energy storage system has qualified as NVIDIA DSX Ready, and Phaidra says it integrated DSX Flex, DSX Max-Q and DSX Exchange into its self-learning agents to deliver about 10% more compute within the same power envelope.
