New controls and chat improvements in Copilot for JetBrains

Enterprise model defaults and MCP server control added

Capability change

GitHub added enterprise controls for default Copilot agent models and MCP server startup in Copilot for JetBrains.

The update also improves chat navigation, diagnostics with a Fix action, and account controls.

Support for JetBrains IDE 2025.1 has ended, requiring version 2025.2 or later.

Enterprise administrators can now use managed settings to choose any available Copilot agent model as the default for new conversations. This gives organizations more control over the starting model while still preserving an explicit model picker choice.
