[CLEF 2022] Context Aware Named Entity Recognition and Relation Extraction

LG AI Research participated in two tasks (1a and 1b) of the ChEMU 2022 challenge for extracting chemical reaction information from patents, achieving the highest performance among four teams.

They used a domain-specific language model post-trained on chemical and biomedical texts, and developed separate NER and RE models operating in a pipeline.
