Cloudflare is using
OpenAI models through Daybreak to investigate vulnerabilities in customer-authorized code and propose fixes for customer review.
- The early-access service, Vulnerability Discovery and Remediation, is offered through Cloudflare Managed Defense and pairs model findings with live traffic and security signals.
- Cloudflare says security teams struggle to sift through vulnerability data because they lack the people and time to act on it.
- The service checks whether an affected route is active, whether it is receiving suspicious traffic, and whether existing controls already protect it.
- Cloudflare prepares proposed code patches and, where appropriate, custom web application firewall rules to reduce exposure while developers review a fix.
- Automated checks and Cloudflare's own team review the proposals before they reach customers, who keep control over which changes to implement.
- Codex is also used across Cloudflare's engineering organization; Anderson says a team of four rebuilt a postponed product in three days for $1,100 in tokens.
