IDC worked with Anthropic to bring IDC Quanta into Claude, giving IDC customers access to its forecasts, market data and research through a connector available today.
- Applying market research has traditionally meant reading long reports to reach an answer such as a vendor shortlist or competitive brief; now a customer describes the market, strategy or purchase they are working on and the IDC Quanta MCP connector for Claude returns finished analysis built on IDC's data.
- IDC Quanta works in the Claude app on desktop and mobile, Cowork, and the
Microsoft Office add-ins, and each answer cites the IDC document or dataset it came from.
- IDC says the connector gives Claude the same data and definitions an IDC analyst works from, so a market share or growth rate matches what IDC would publish.
- IDC has also rolled Claude out across the company, where engineers, product, marketing and sales teams use it daily; engineering rebuilt an internal data repository in three weeks instead of an estimated three months.
- IDC Quanta customers who use Claude can add the connector from within Claude, and others can contact IDC or book a demo.
