Shanghai AI Lab released SCP-Lab, a protocol that provides a unified interface for AI agents to discover, task, and receive feedback from heterogeneous lab equipment.
It uses a layered architecture and a five-level control granularity (L1–L5) to standardize access across different devices and vendors.
The protocol has been validated in nine scenarios including chemical synthesis, materials optimization, and protein directed evolution.
