Mistral AI released Mistral Large 4, a 1-trillion-parameter mixture-of-experts model that activates only 49 billion parameters per inference.
The model is available in public preview on Mistral's cloud platform, with open-weight release planned later in October.
Mistral Large 4 scored 82% on the AA Cyber Index for patching open-source vulnerabilities and outperformed GPT-6 Astra by 1% on the Dense200 image benchmark, though it trails frontier models on standard coding benchmarks.
