OpenAI says a former employee who returned to Apple took more than 100 confidential files about an unreleased device and presented the plans to Apple's senior leadership.
OpenAI alleged in a court filing that the unnamed former employee sent over 100 highly confidential files about at least one unreleased OpenAI device to personal accounts, including detailed images and engineering data.
The employee, who had previously worked at Apple, joined OpenAI for six months before returning to Apple, and some files were sent just after midnight on his final day at OpenAI, the filing states.
Apple said its investigation found no evidence to support OpenAI's claims, and that the personal phone numbers OpenAI identified as recipients of the files did not match the employee's work number at Apple.
