Anthropic is preparing to release Claude Fable 5.5 next week, according to a leaker who says partners have been given access to the upcoming model.
TestingCatalog reports that partners appear to be testing Fable 5.5, and a leaker expects a release next week.
A screenshot from X user Alex Getman showed Fable 5.5 listed as "Generally available" in Azure's East US 2 model catalog, with the same pricing as Fable 5.1, though LiteLLM removed the entry a day later when Azure queries came back empty.
Lumina Bench found a "claude-onigiri-eap" codename in Artificial Analysis's frontend with four effort levels and an Opus 4.8 fallback, a setup typical of Fable and Opus-tier models, which was pulled hours later.
