The pledge provides compute resources and tools through the RAISE initiative, which aims to bridge the compute gap European scientists sometimes face. Researchers will gain access to tools including AlphaFold 3, WeatherNext, AlphaGenome, AlphaEvolve, and AlphaEarth Foundations. The effort targets challenges such as predicting extreme weather patterns and mapping molecular structures to reinforce European scientific competitiveness.
At the AI in Science Summit in Dublin, the Commission named NVIDIA and Google DeepMind among the first organisations to pledge support to European researchers.
NVIDIA is joining the European Commission's AI in Science Enablers Initiative, pledging open models, compute access and training to help Europe's research community adopt accelerated computing. The company has released over 250 open models, 250 datasets and 1,400 open source projects, available on Hugging Face and GitHub, spanning domains from healthcare to climate science. NVIDIA is collaborating with AI factories in France, Spain and Sweden to give startups and SMEs sovereign compute access through its Inception program. The company is also powering 35 supercomputers under development across Europe, the continent's largest single-year supercomputing buildout, to equip over 3 million researchers.
