Official summary

The initiative aims at improving performance of school education in the age of AI. It addresses structural issues focusing on basic skills decline, teacher shortages, limited digital capacity and AI readiness. It complements Member States efforts with targeted EU action on promoting cooperation between schools and school authorities, teacher support, deploying digitally sovereign tools for teaching and learning, promotion of learner well-being, responsible AI use and AI literacy.
