Microsoft AI is offering MAI Cyber 1.1 Flash, a more focused security model that it says matches MAI Cyber 1 Flash on an internal MDASH vulnerability-scanning evaluation suite while costing 18% less per scan.
- The company says the point is not a cheaper model on its own but a more efficient vulnerability discovery system that keeps the performance defenders rely on.
Microsoft says customers who try MAI Cyber 1 Flash in MDASH tend to stay: after a first scan with the MAI Cyber 1 Flash profile, nearly 9 in 10 later scans use the MAI profile rather than the
OpenAI-only model profile.
- MAI Cyber now accounts for almost 50% of all MDASH scans, with thousands of scans from hundreds of customers, according to the company.
- MAI Cyber 1.1 Flash is available through MDASH to verified customers, with safeguards that include clear usage policies and ongoing monitoring.
- Existing MDASH customers select the MAI Cyber 1.1 Flash profile when starting a new scan, and others can request access.
