Anthropic has launched Claude Duet, an AI agent for professionals and small business owners that competes with
Meta's Muse and
OpenAI's Dots, as a research preview.
- The agent is built around Claude Opus 5.5 and is available as a standalone app on iOS and Android and through Claude on the web.
- Anthropic says it sends a short morning brief on the most important items across connected apps, then messages only when something needs attention, and can take on tasks from scheduling meetings to building dashboards and web apps.
- Claude Duet pulls in memory, skills and connected apps from Claude and has a virtual machine with a browser for completing work, messaging the user for approval before big steps such as sending a payment or deleting something.
- Because it may act on sensitive information, Anthropic added a dedicated classifier and safety system prompt that it says are designed to reject requests to share the strictest tier of information, such as credit card numbers.
- Anthropic calls it an early version that might misread a thread or miscalibrate what's urgent and is not as strong at personal errands like booking tickets; access requires joining a waitlist and being a Pro or Max subscriber in the US.
