Supabase launched a GitHub Copilot extension for VS Code that includes a chat participant (@supabase) and a guided database migration feature.

The extension also allows users to inspect tables, views, functions, storage buckets, and migration history directly from the editor.
It requires the Supabase CLI and a local project, with future plans to integrate the Supabase Management API for hosted projects.

The extension provides a guided experience to create and apply database migrations. Simply type @supabase /migration <describe what you want to do> in your Copilot Chat and the extension will generate a new SQL migration for you.
