Supabase released declarative schemas, allowing developers to define their database structure in centralized .sql files that can be version-controlled.
The feature automatically generates migration files and simplifies schema changes by providing a single place to maintain tables, views, functions, RLS policies, and other database entities.
Supabase has used the same internal tooling for the past two years and is now making it available to all users via the Supabase CLI.
