Supabase announced that Sugu, the co-creator of Vitess, is joining the team to build Multigres, a new proxy for scaling Postgres databases.
Multigres aims to provide sharding, connection pooling, query routing, and high availability for Postgres, with a focus on compatibility and a gradual on-ramp from simple pooling to petabyte-scale sharding.
The project will be open source under the Apache 2 license.
