Microsoft AI announced MAI-Thinking-1, a new reasoning model available in public preview on Microsoft Foundry. The model achieves state-of-the-art performance on maths, knowledge, and coding benchmarks for its weight class, with 35B active parameters and a 256k token context window. It is trained without distillation from third-party models and is designed for enterprise use with integrated safety and compliance features.
