GitHub deprecated selected models across most GitHub Copilot experiences, including Copilot Chat, inline edits, ask and agent modes, and code completions, as of September 1, 2026. Claude Sonnet 4.6 remains available to individual GitHub Copilot subscribers on annual plans.
