Anthropic's new hardware standard lets AI agents control the physical world

Anthropic announced the Model Hardware Standard (MHS), a set of standardized drivers for AI agents to interface with physical devices, currently in research preview with scientific labs and manufacturers.

MHS aims to reduce integration time from weeks to hours, and will eventually become an open source standard.

Anthropic is now aiming to change that somewhat with what it’s calling the Model Hardware Standard (MHS), a set of standardized drivers designed to let AI agents easily interface with and control arbitrary devices.
