NVIDIA Nemotron 3.5 Lightning and NeMo Switchyard Deliver Faster, Smarter, More Efficient Agentic AI

NVIDIA announced Nemotron 3.5 Lightning, a 30-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts open model for high-volume agentic AI tasks, and NeMo Switchyard, an open-source library for intelligent model routing to improve efficiency and cost. The model is customizable and can run on local systems. NVIDIA also released a dataset for agentic reinforcement learning used to post-train the model for coding capabilities. Internal benchmarks show NeMo Switchyard reduces task completion cost to nearly one-third of Opus 4.8 alone while maintaining frontier-level accuracy. The announcement includes partnerships with CrowdStrike, Harvey, CodeRabbit, Lila Sciences, and Fastino Labs for domain-specific customization. The model is part of the Nemotron 3 family and is designed for 'systems of models' architecture for always-on agents.
