NVIDIA announces the 800 VDC power architecture for AI factories, developed with Google and Microsoft through OCP, enabling more efficient power delivery for next-generation AI compute. The architecture includes the MGX-compatible 800 VDC power rack arriving in H2 2026, a row power center in 2027, and a DC power block for new facilities. Over 80 companies are building to the open standard.
From the source
800 VDC simplifies that path. By distributing power at higher voltage through a direct current (DC), fewer conversion stages stand between the grid and the accelerator — which means more of the available power reaches the compute.
