Tencent announced Hy4 on November 4th, a model with image understanding and computer-use capabilities that follows an August preview.
- The preview, described by Unite.AI as a 770-billion-parameter model with 49 billion active parameters, carried a context window of approximately one million tokens.
- Tencent is positioning its office and coding products as distribution for the model before outside developers can download it, and the discounted hosted pricing gives teams a reason to try Hy4 now.
- The delayed weights will decide whether Tencent's open-source claim becomes a deployable alternative to proprietary computer-use systems or stays a hosted product with a future release attached.
