OpenAI says it will acquire Pierre Computer Company, the maker of Code Storage, whose Git-based storage features would be folded into the Codex app.
- Codex already uses Pierre's tools for browsing and reviewing code, so the deal would bring that storage layer inside a product that depends on it.
- OpenAI announced the agreement in a post on X and in a company announcement dated November 4th, 2026.
- The company did not state terms, a closing date or what happens to Pierre's open-source tools.
