OpenAI released GPT-6.1 Terra on October 26th, pitching it as a lower-cost model for software that has to interpret screens and carry out routine computer work.
- The model is available in ChatGPT Work, Codex and the API, according to the company.
- OpenAI's launch announcement says Terra's standard API prices are 50% lower than those of GPT-5.6 Terra and GPT-6.1 Sol.
- RuntimeWire notes that operators will need to measure total workflow costs, including tool calls and human review, rather than the headline rate alone.
