OpenAI and Google have reached an arrangement that brings OpenAI's frontier models into
Google Cloud services, with GPT models also set to appear in Google's Antigravity coding tool.
- OpenAI's latest model will arrive in Google's Model Garden in the coming weeks, joining more than 200 existing options that already include Gemini, Mistral, Llama, Gemma and
Anthropic's Claude.
- Google says it is now the only large cloud provider offering access to all three leading closed LLMs.
- The full suite of current GPT 6 and 6.1 models, named Astra, Sol and Luna, will launch on Google Cloud, with Astra costing the most to run, while Google's system supports dynamically moving workloads between LLMs based on performance, latency and efficiency.
- OpenAI models will run entirely on Google's infrastructure, with transactions handled through the Google Cloud Marketplace, which Google says makes it easy for businesses with existing Google Cloud spending commitments to begin using GPT models.
- Google says all three OpenAI LLMs are rolling out now in private preview for select enterprise customers, and those seeking early access can submit a request that enables API access even through Codex CLI or Codex Desktop.
