MiniMax rolled out MiniMax M3.1 Flash on October 19, 2026, confirming that Space Bunny, an anonymous model that processed more than 200 trillion tokens in stealth, was an early version of the release.
- MiniMax says the model brings a "generational leap" in agentic tasks, coding, computer use and cybersecurity, with online inference nearly three times faster and usage costs 70% lower.
- OpenRouter, which hosted the stealth run, said Space Bunny was its number-one model for 10 straight days and processed 56.7 trillion tokens, the most of any stealth model it has run.
- OpenRouter credited user feedback during the stealth period with helping MiniMax fix bugs and ship upgrades: time to first token improved 38%, from 1.95 seconds to 1.22 seconds, throughput rose 45%, from 70 to 100 tokens per second, and the error rate fell from 1.4% to 0.7%.
- MiniMax reported 73.7% on DeepSWE v1.1, 76.2 on BankerToolBench, 61.7 points on OSWorld V2, 29.6 points on Agents' Last Exam and 82% on CyberGym, and said the model ranks first among Chinese models on the computer-use benchmarks.
- Flat API pricing is $0.15 per 1M input tokens, $0.60 per 1M output tokens and $0.015 per 1M cached input tokens, and the model is available through the MiniMax API, the M Plan subscription and MiniMax Code for desktop.
- MiniMax said the weights will arrive on October 23, 2026, while its announcement said weights will be released later, and a Pro model will also arrive later.
