Gemini 3.5 Flash deprecated, replaced by 3.6 Flash

Deprecation

Google DeepMind has deprecated gemini-3.5-flash, replacing it with gemini-3.6-flash and automatically routing API requests to the newer model.

Users can no longer select gemini-3.5-flash in Google AI Studio, and existing API calls are redirected without breaking.
The company advises developers to update their model string to gemini-3.6-flash or gemini-3.8-flash and consult the Gemini 3.6 Flash guide.

gemini-3.5-flash is deprecated and has been replaced by gemini-3.6-flash. It is no longer available to select in Google AI Studio, and API requests to gemini-3.5-flash are automatically routed to gemini-3.6-flash.
