Mistral AI released Timestral, its first family of time-series foundation models, available in four sizes from 5M to 209M parameters.
The largest model ranks first on the GIFT-Eval, TIME, and fev-bench benchmarks, outperforming larger models with fewer parameters.
Timestral supports probabilistic, multivariate forecasting with past and future covariates, runs efficiently on CPUs, and offers fine-tuning via Mistral Forge.

Today, we're releasing Timestral, our first family of time-series foundation models. Our largest model, at just 209M parameters, ranks first on all three of the field's main public benchmarks, GIFT-Eval, TIME, and fev-bench, outperforming the previous state of the art with only two-thirds of the model parameters.
