Predictable AI spend in BigQuery: Introducing cost management for generative AI functions

Google Cloud announced general availability of token-based cost management for BigQuery generative AI functions.

Administrators can set four daily quotas (input tokens per day, input tokens per day per user, output tokens per day, output tokens per day per user) at the project and per-user level, enforced through the IAM quota system.

The quotas apply to functions such as AI.GENERATE, AI.CLASSIFY, and AI.SCORE, but not to embedding functions.
