The EU’s next chapter in AI is agentic

OpenAI reports agentic AI use now accounts for over half of EU enterprise output tokens.

Research paper

OpenAI's Economic Research report finds that among ChatGPT Enterprise customers in the EU, agentic tools Codex and ChatGPT Work now generate more than half of output tokens.

Weekly active users of these tools among EU small and medium businesses grew more than eightfold since May 2026.

The report also identifies a substantial gap in AI usage intensity between EU frontier firms and global frontier firms.
