Vercel Functions are now faster—and powered by Rust

Vercel has migrated its serverless Functions runtime to Rust, resulting in faster cold starts and lower costs.

• The company reports 30% faster cold starts for smaller workloads and 80ms (average) and 500ms (p99) faster execution for larger workloads.
• The improvements are rolling out gradually to all customers with no action required.
