Google Cloud introduced a remote MCP server in preview that exposes gcloud and BigQuery (bq) CLI commands as tools for AI agents.
The server runs commands in an isolated cloud sandbox, eliminating the need to install CLI binaries locally.
It supports authentication via Agent Identity or OAuth 2.0, enforces IAM permissions, and integrates with Model Armor for prompt screening.
