Updates to GitHub Copilot for Slack and Microsoft Teams
Copilot in Slack and Teams gains context awareness and improved work linking
GitHub Copilot in Slack and Microsoft Teams now supports expanded context from conversations, including files, attachments, images, and message links.
The update improves how Copilot creates and links GitHub work items back to source discussions, allows users to switch models per message, and enhances handling of longer-running tasks with better status reporting and connection recovery.
The public preview is available to organizations on GitHub Copilot Business and GitHub Copilot Enterprise plans.

Whether you're sharing files in Slack or images and forwarded messages in Teams, Copilot can use more of the context already in your conversation. We've also improved how Copilot creates GitHub work and connects it back to the source discussion, so teams can more quickly see the context behind a decision.
