SymptomAI: Towards a conversational AI agent for everyday symptom assessment

Google Research presents SymptomAI, a research study of conversational AI agents for symptom assessment and differential diagnosis, using Gemini Flash 2.0. The study enrolled 13,917 participants and compared SymptomAI's diagnostic performance against clinicians' assessments, finding that clinicians preferred SymptomAI's differential diagnoses over those of other clinicians in over 50% of cases.
