The honor of receiving Presidential Citation! Leading software innovation with EXAONE

LG AI Research announced that Jinsik Lee, Leader of the EXAONE Lab, received the Presidential Citation for Meritorious Service to the Software Industry.

The award recognizes his contributions to advancing the software industry and LG AI Research's efforts to secure domestic AI technology independence and expand an open ecosystem.

The announcement highlights EXAONE's achievements including being Korea's first open-weight large-scale AI model, reaching 8.6 million downloads on Hugging Face as of December 2025, and the EXAONE 3.5 32B model being named a Notable AI Model by Epoch AI and included in Stanford HAI's AI Index 2025.
