Amazon describes a configurable, instruction-driven PII detector that runs on any large language model managed on Amazon Bedrock, evaluated on five public PII corpora across nine LLM-based detectors including the OpenAI PrivacyFilter. The detector is model-agnostic, with detection logic in instructions and a configurable backend via an Inferencer interface. The pii-detector package is available in the sample-llm-pii-detection repository.

## Evidence

Verbatim from https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/machine-learning/model-agnostic-pii-detection-with-llms/:

> a configurable, model-agnostic detector built on large language models (LLMs), walk through its implementation, benchmark it against an off-the-shelf tool, and show how to run it on your own data.
