Anthropic has added a read-only Personal Finance beta to Claude for eligible US subscribers, letting them link bank accounts through Plaid and ask about balances, transactions and spending. The rollout is gradual and limited to Pro, Max and Ultra plans in the United States, covering Claude on the web, desktop and the iOS and Android apps, while Free, Team and Enterprise plans are excluded. Access is read-only, so Claude cannot move, manage or invest money, and Anthropic says the feature is not meant to give investment advice. In a worked example, Claude totals $4,309.37 across connected accounts, assigns more than half to rent and utilities and $1,024.51 to food and drink, then flags a membership renewal and four payments due before payday. Claude can also scan for duplicate charges, unexpected fees and rising bills, explain terms such as APR, and build weekly spending charts, upcoming-obligation calendars and adjustable dashboards. Anthropic warns that balances may be a day or two old, that an account connected through two logins can be counted twice, and that spending figures omit any bank Claude cannot read. Only US banks can be linked, up to a maximum of 16, and linked accounts cannot be used in scheduled tasks, Cowork tasks or Claude Code. Conversations in the Personal Finance hub are not used to train Anthropic's models, but financial data stays in chat history until the chat is deleted, and shared links or published artifacts can retain bank figures after a connection ends.

## Evidence

Verbatim from https://www.unite.ai/anthropic-introduces-read-only-personal-finance-beta-in-claude/:

> Anthropic announced Personal Finance in Claude on November 5, 2026, introducing a beta that lets eligible US subscribers connect financial accounts through Plaid and ask questions about their balances, transactions and spending. The access is read-only: Claude cannot move, manage or invest money, and the feature is not designed to provide investment advice.
>
> The rollout is gradual and limited to Pro, Max and Ultra plans in the United States. It covers Claude on the web, Claude Desktop, and the iOS and Android apps; Free, Team and Enterprise plans are excluded. A paid subscription alone therefore does not guarantee immediate access during the rollout.
>
> Personal Finance carries no ads or sponsored recommendations, and Anthropic is not pairing it with its own credit cards, loans or savings accounts. That design aligns with the ad-free policy Anthropic published on February 4, 2026, when it said Claude’s responses would not be influenced by advertisers or contain unsolicited third-party product placements.
