Cohere is adding open models, both its own and others', to Model Vault, the sovereign inference platform it launched in January. The company says the expansion is meant to widen access to open models, arguing that "when more people can access open models, everybody wins." Model Vault runs models on single tenant infrastructure that belongs to the customer's workloads, with no shared GPUs, neighboring tenants or infrastructure management. A Model Vault Encrypted option protects data in use as well as at rest and in transit, so that, according to Cohere, "nobody can see what you send to the model - not even us." Cohere did not say which open models are being added or when they become available.
