GitHub Copilot is now available inside JetBrains Air, letting developers delegate coding tasks, guide execution and review results in their IDE or in the cloud. The integration uses the Agent Client Protocol and sits alongside the existing GitHub Copilot plugin, so users pick whichever workflow suits them. Local tasks need Air installed in the JetBrains IDE, GitHub Copilot selected and a connected Copilot account. Cloud tasks require a JetBrains account in an Air Teams-enabled business organization, a Copilot subscription and Copilot enabled by the Air administrator. Copilot cloud tasks run in a Docker container on a fresh virtual machine, with all traffic through a proxy and no state carried between tasks. Connecting Copilot to Air does not request Copilot permissions, and Air may only verify subscription or credit availability when the cloud environment starts. Air administrators can disable Copilot through a governance policy but cannot set Copilot spending limits within Air.
