Mistral AI released the weights of a new and improved Le Chonk, an open model it says advances the open frontier for agentic coding and cybersecurity. The company says Le Chonk ranks first on Cognition's FrontierCode among open models and sets a new benchmark for Pareto efficiency on Artificial Analysis. Mistral also calls it state-of-the-art in cyberdefense, saying it was put through the paces by leading cyber vendors including CrowdStrike, Cloudflare, Rubrik and Zscaler. The weights can be downloaded on Hugging Face, customized with Mistral Forge, and deployed wherever needed, which Mistral frames as built for sovereignty.
