Uber is expanding OpenAI's ChatGPT Work agent to more than 30,000 employees from October 22, 2026, turning an earlier 1,000-employee pilot into a company-wide deployment inside ChatGPT Enterprise. The rollout is Uber's first company-wide deployment of an agentic platform built for knowledge work, and it reaches operations, finance, marketing and product teams, supported by Uber's internal AI skills library, approved integrations and employee training. ChatGPT Work connects to Google Drive, Gmail, Google Calendar and Slack, which OpenAI says lets workers research information, prepare meeting briefs, create presentations, analyze data and complete workflows across applications. GPT-6.1 Sol will be the default model inside ChatGPT Work, which OpenAI describes as balancing frontier performance and cost efficiency, while Uber's developers keep using Codex for coding work. Uber CTO Praveen Neppalli Naga said the company wants to give everyone the tools to innovate and solve problems as AI changes how it works. OpenAI launched ChatGPT Work on July 9, 2026, powered at launch by GPT-5.6 with Codex technology built in, initially on web and mobile for Pro, Enterprise and Edu plans before Plus and Business.
